It takes a long time to create the content.Once they find it, it takes a while for them to understand and apply the information. If you look at your use of SharePoint you are probably noticing that you are experiencing slowdowns in all of these areas: An inability to adapt to changing procedures or information quickly.Lots of sticky notes on employee workstations. If it takes too long to do any one of these things then your content won't get created soon enough, won't get used, or won't get updated. Speed of Iteration: How quickly can you update and iterate over content?.Speed of Creation: How quickly can you create crystal clear content?.Speed of Knowledge Application: Once you have found the right content, how fast can you correctly apply it to the current situation?.Speed of Search: How fast can you find the right content?.In order for your knowledge management program to be effective you need to have a knowledge management tool that enables your organization to do four things very fast. You have knowledge management problems and you are frustrated because it seems like SharePoint should be helping you, but it isn't. You probably don't have a "SharePoint problem". What follows below is based on those personal interactions and feedback we have received from our clients and team members. I have also talked to our team members who have helped in these transitions to identify the key improvements that customers see when they add better knowledge management to their organization with ScreenSteps. I'm the CEO of ScreenSteps and have worked with many customers who have been in this situation. What would be the cost of adding ScreenSteps to our organization?.How would ScreenSteps help us achieve better results than we are now getting?.Could ScreenSteps solve some of these problems?.You know that you either need to find a way to get your employees to use SharePoint effectively, or find another solution.Īnd so now you have stumbled upon ScreenSteps and you have some questions like: You are hearing complaints from stakeholders that you need to do a better job of training employees. If you are a trainer or a manager, this puts a huge burden on you. They are still asking their managers and trainers questions that they should be able to answer on their own. They are still giving the wrong answers to customers. What managers are really feeling is frustration that they have all this knowledge in SharePoint, but it isn't benefiting their business. Even when employees find the right information, they often find it easier to just ask their manager what they should do instead of reading through what are often dense documents in SharePoint.A lot of information in SharePoint is outdated and it is hard to keep it up to date.
using its own type of report design rendering.E.g Magento can sync back and forth with their system using this Magento Connector module which makes use of Lightspeed’s API more expand-ability, you can use 3rd party API integration to sync various data back and forth such as: inventory, orders, customers from external eCommerce platforms.(the interface feels really fluid, no apparent delays) requiring constant internet connection to process every single input made.Supported in North America and slowly rolling out to the World cloud-hosted on Lightspeed’s high-end servers.accessible from any operating system (as it’s on the Cloud it operates from any web browser, just like Dropbox).using its own type of report design rendering (more graphical).usable with intermittent background internet connection.limiting business expending capabilities (poor API and performance output).self-hosted as its own server (on same terminal). This is what I dug from my analytical case study, if anyone else know some features I don’t please comment below Lightspeed Onsite specifications: That particular question might be better suited for your sales rep since they are trained to know the key differences between the two products to help determine the best fit for your company.ĭoesn’t really have an answer for me. I know that the reports are displayed differently and some of the procedures are different but most everything should be comparable. I only work with LS Retail so I am not sure if there are any features that onsite has the retail doesn’t. Are there any features available to LS-Onsite which aren’t available on LS-Retail ? The programs themselves are also quite different so it is essentially learning how to use a new point of sale system. Onsite is tied to a specific computer and it has to be a mac. The biggest difference is that Retail is cloud based so it can be accessed from any device. Questions asked to Savannah support agent retail states: What is the main difference between both ? Having worked around Lightspeed for +5 years now, I know the Lightspeed Retail mechanism very well. So I decided to dig in this and share my findings to those wondering what both products are. Even Lightspeed sales consultants aren’t able to give a straight answer to my question: What features does Lightspeed Retail has over Lightspeed OnSite? It isn’t apparent what the core differences are between both products carried by Lightspeed HQ. How to choose between Lightspeed Retail and Lightspeed OnSite ? Simply select each object, type the letter or character you want it to represent, and hit Create Glyph in the Fontself Maker panel. Since we've already prepared our character set in the previous tutorial, you can simply open your Adobe Illustrator document that has your original vector objects if it's not open already, and we can begin adding glyphs to our font. This panel allows us to create a simple font without leaving Adobe Illustrator. Under Windows > Extensions, you'll be able to open the Fontself Maker panel. Once you see the message below, restart Adobe Illustrator and your extension will have been installed. My instructions involved going to File > Script > Other Scripts in order to load the script. Once you've purchased and downloaded it, you'll find a zip folder with instructions for installation. If you're working with Fontself, you'll need to install the script. Check out the market's font category for inspiration for your personal designs. This tutorial should easily prepare you to create simple and fun fonts that can be sold as digital assets on Envato Market. The first will use Fontself, a paid Adobe Illustrator extension, and the second will use FontForge, an open-source font-creation program. In this tutorial we'll explore two fantastic methods of creating a custom font with our vector letterforms. Check out part one if you haven't already! We've planned out our letter set, gone over ways to refine the font design, and prepared files for use in a font-making program, all from the comfort of Adobe Illustrator. I have an idea for a parametric font, but this “perfect” idea means that I will probably never finish it.If you're a designer or illustrator who's more comfortable creating glyphs in Adobe Illustrator, this tutorial is right up your alley! This tutorial is part two of two. I would probably go with a different approach if I was creating the font again.Īlso, if this was a non-handwriting font, I would be starting in Inkscape (or a C# program). One of the drawbacks of simplify path is that you lose a bit of the sharpness of the image. The bottom row has two versions because the lower set is the diacritic version (western) and the upper set is the inline (eastern). Everything has roughly the same height and it comes off as a block of text. I love Cherokee as a script, but it shows some aspects of being a constructed script. I did this for a few reasons, mainly for comprehension. You may notice that the heights of the individual glyphs varies a lot. Then, I reorganized the glyphs again just to make it easier for creating the final arrangement.Īfter a bit more, I had this for the end of this step: I took a couple passes going back and forth until I was pretty happy with the results. After doing that, I tried to remove other control points (F2 lets you see those) to create a simple glyph. I was going with an easier approach, so I use Simplify Path (Control-L) to remove many of the control points and smooth out the lines. Then, starting on the left side, I go through each glyph and clean it up before moving the next. I started by throwing everything on a baseline, just to make it easier to scroll. This is the next tedious part of the process. Use Subtract (Control-Minus) to remove the bowl from the outline. To fix this, click on the filled-in bowl, then control-click on the outline. The resulting image will have each glyph as a separate image, but all of the loops will be filled in. Once you are down to one image, select the traced outline and use Break Apart (Control-K). Just use control and an arrow key to move one out of the way and delete the image behind the vector version. The resulting item looks just like an image. It works for a few moments and then looks like you have to click OK again. There is a quirk after you click “OK” on this dialog. Select the bitmap then choose Trace Bitmap from the menu. It doesn't matter if you link or embed, but I usually link to avoid bloating the SVG file.īecause I cleaned up the image in Gimp, it is easy to turn the raster image into a SVG image. Using the final image from the previous step, we import it into Inkscape as an image. I'll add links to the entire set as I go, but for now, these are the ones I plan on creating:Īgain, this is a relatively simple process. This is going to be broken into multiple posts, mainly because there are a few distinct steps. The previous parts of creating a font for Miwāfu was to prepare an image suitable for importing into Inkscape. It is very easy to copy SVG images from Inkscape into FontForge. It’s a handy touch, and helps cement that Studio One 5 is a solid choice for larger studios too. It basically allows you to create sheets for your session musicians, meaning you can get to the recording and mixing portion quicker. There’s also actual integration with Notion itself, though I didn’t have a copy of Notion to test this feature out. And, since Studio One 5.1, you’ve been able to print scores directly from Studio One, meaning you’re not forced to export it to Notion. For example, the feature now supports drum notation and guitar tablature, making it even more useful for a much wider audience. Studio One 5.2 continues to refine the new notation tools. You can individually add notes of different values using a MIDI keyboard, without having to play through your piece in real-time, or if you do prefer to record in real-time you can do that too - and edit any errors or changes after the fact. Studio One 5 makes it relatively easy to enter new notes in your score too. Using the score editor, you can store multiple tracks of MIDI information in a standard score, plus you can manually edit notes, rests, and so on. Perhaps the biggest update to the now mature DAW is the addition of a new score editor, which leverages PreSonus’ experience with the much-loved Notion composition software, and is an incredibly powerful tool. For example, you can capture a snapshot of an entire mixer, and recall those snapshots later, including limiting the parameters you may want to use for the recall. There are tools for recalling mixer settings too. And, in the latest version of the software, Studio One 5.2, you can create multiple versions of a clip - so if you, for example, use Melodyne to create a tunes version, you can still access the original quickly and easily and without having to create multiple tracks. Aux tracks can also now accept input from external audio sources, without the need for an extra associated track. You’ll get new Clip Gain Envelopes, for example, which let you control the gain of a specific audio clip. If you do want to dive in to all the tools at your disposal, however, there’s a lot that’s new. Thankfully, you can hide many sections in Studio One to make that learning process easier. But if you’re new to recording and mixing, there’s a lot you’ll need to ignore until you’re a little more familiar with the basics. For professionals, this isn’t a problem - if you have an understanding of the lingo and what the tools do, you’ll have no problem flying around the software. PreSonus struggles a little to make the interface approachable. That’s pretty handy.Of course, all of the features on offer by Studio One 5 make for an incredibly powerful DAW - but there is a drawback. You’ll get tools for displaying a setlist, the ability to rearrange your songs for the event, and the ability to tweak your setup for each song. This is where you can manage live performances. There’s a fourth page in Studio One 5 though - the Show page. And, the Project page is where you can master you masterpiece. The Song page is where you’ll spend all your time recording and mixing. In the Start page, you’ll create your song and the settings. You’ll still get the same Start, Song, and Project pages in Studio One Professional (not Studio One Artist). Its overall look and feel remains the same - but it has definitely gotten a bit of a facelift, along with a few new features that you’ll notice right away. If you’ve used Studio One 5 before, you’ll know your way around the new version of the software. Now, Studio One is on its fifth version - Studio One 5 - and in fact, at the time of this writing, was recently updated to Studio One 5.2. Are you interested in taking the plunge, and adopting a new take on the classic DAW? Here are our thoughts on PreSonus Studio One 5. It’s also interesting because those that do take the plunge and switch to Studio One tend to love it. Some newer DAWs, like Bitwig, offer a fresh and interesting take on the DAW, but are likely to serve a more niche audience - while Studio One is built to seriously compete with Pro Tools and Logic. But over the past decade, serious competitors have risen to the challenge - and perhaps the most interesting of those is PreSonus’ Studio One. For decades, the likes of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton have dominated the discussion when it comes the best DAWs. How to Access the Roku Channel Info Secret Menu
